Scientists Are Trying To Toughen Artic Ice

A company in the Artic is trying to strengthen the sea ice. They pump water up onto the ice on cold days to that the water will freeze then thicken and strengthen the ice at the beginning of summer.
This is a test to see if they can do it on a larger scale. The test area was a small patch of sea in the sea near Canada.

It is possible that there will be no sea ice in the summer in the next few years. Sea ice reflects lots of heat and helps keep the Earth cooler. The white ice reflects lots of the sun's rays back out but dark blue sea water absorbs the heat. If the ice is gone, then the Earth will get hotter.
It is a bold idea. It would be expensive, but would cost less than the profits of the big oil companies since the start of the Iran war...
