Kitchen work - Hard work is important!

I have been a teacher for 4 years now. But, before I was a teacher, I worked in kitchens in several different countries. It was sometimes a difficult job, but I really enjoyed it.

Each restaurant, hotel or bakery I worked at was a new challenge. Sometimes, it was really difficult for me. I remember one job was just too much. I helped breakfast, made cakes and scones for a cafe and did lunch for 100+ people every day. It was so hard at first. I quickly realised I just had to do it! The job can't change for me, so I have to change for the job! That job showed me that working hard is so important. If my boss knows I am a good worker, he will be ready to help my career later.

I have worked as a chef in 4 different countries. I worked in New Zealand, France, Germany and Austria. I have been able to travel to many countries because of kitchen work. Each country was a different challenge, but working with people really made me happy. I made so many good friends in that time. Sometimes I miss that kind of work, but I am happier as a teacher.
