I want to write a little about my secondary school in the UK.

First a note about schools. We have primary school (5-11 years old) and then secondary school (11-16 years old). After that we go to college.

My school was quite large. There are now 1327 students and 84 teachers! There is a sports centre next to the school. It is not only used by students but also local residents. Hockey, football, netball, swimming, rounders and athletics (track and field) are played or practiced outdoors. Badminton and tennis are played indoors.

Maths, English (language and literature), science, design and technology, religious education, history, geography, French and/or Spanish, computing and P.E. are studied at my school. I got qualifications in science, math, English, German, design and technology, history and geography.

In year 9 (junior high school grade 3) some subjects are chosen by the students. 3 subjects can be selected from a list. English, maths, P.E., science, history, geography, etc are still compulsory... Just like in Japan!

What subjects do you want to study? Do you want to study French or Spanish?
