Last weekend we noticed praying mantises in our garden. Actually, we first saw them on our back door!
I love them. 3 years ago we had a praying mantis called Rupert in our house. He was out pet. He died before he was one year old. I loved watching Rupert eat a bug that I caught. He also drank water from my hand. I loved him... so sad...
We are happy they are in the garden for two reasons. First, they are beautiful and soooo coooool! There are none in the UK, so they are very exotic and exciting.
Second, they catch and eat other insects. Those insects eat will eat our flowers and plants so praying mantises will help our garden stay healthy.
Do you like praying mantises?? Do you like any insects?? What insects are strange and exotic to you?? Do you like strange pets??
I didn't realise there is a fly in front of the praying mantis in the picture I took!
