Racing Dinosaurs in Nara

T-rex (tyrannosaurus rex) races are held worldwide, but did you know also in Japan? I didn't know and I think it is wonderful. There was one recently in Nara.

There are also races held in other parts of Japan including several in Niigata last year. All you need is a dinousaur suit (around ￥4-5000 from amazon) and you can sign up. The race is 50m and the limit is 50 people. The pictured race in Nara had different races for men, women and children.

The dinosaur athletes do calisthenics (ラジオ体操) before. It looks a lot of fun, but very competitive! It looks interesting...
