Nintendo Switch 2 Big Reveal!

Yesterday, there was a one-hour Nintendo Direct to show more details on the Switch 2. It looks very cool and I am excited for the future of my favourite video game company. Here are my thoughts:

Games

I love that there a some cool Nintendo games and I love that Donkey Kong is filling the 3D platformer hole that Mario normally fills (most Nintendo console reveals include a Mario game). We haven't had a full 3D Donkey Kong game since the Nintendo 64 (I think).

It is cool that there are lots of big-name games. From Software will bring Elden Ring and another new game, The Duskbloods. Plus lots of big name games such as Hogwarts Legacy, Street Fighter 6 and Cyberpunk 2077. It is great to see some of the biggest games of the last few years coming to a Nintendo console. It makes me very happy and excited for the future!

Hardware

I am used to Nintendo consoles being weird. They are always really different from the previous console (apart from the NES to the SNES - or Famicom to Super Famicom). But this time the Switch 2 is almost exactly the same as the Switch... which is a little boring. I am pleased that it will play most Switch games though.

Mario Kart World looks really cool and I am sure it will sell well!

I doubt I will buy a Switch 2 yet. There aren't any games for it that I really need to play yet. I will wait a little bit... What do you think? Will you buy one? Do you want one?!
